Legal Assistant/Secretary – Property Department

The regional Suffolk office handles Property, Commercial, Family and Private Client matters, while the London office specialises in Media Law and Defamation.

The Role:

Excellent drafting, technical and time management skills are crucial, together with the ability to deliver a strongly client-focused service giving clear, timely and practical support.


To efficiently undertake legal support, administration and clerical duties which includes:

  • Support fee earners on client matters including: file administration; drafting standard documentation and correspondence; liaising with clients/third parties; completing search forms and online applications with relevant agencies, including post completion matters.
  • Property post-completion matters; SDLT returns, land registry applications, etc.
  • Data input, data extraction, photocopying, faxing, filing and word processing/typing duties as directed.
  • Dealing with internal and external post and emails on a day to day basis,
  • Answering /dealing with queries, both face to face and via the telephone, take messages accurately and pass them onto the relevant member of staff in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Supporting the team to maintain accurate, timely and legible records.
  • Meeting and greeting clients and visitors as required.
  • Maintaining filing systems in line with current procedures.
  • Be a flexible and supportive team member.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Actively engage in all aspects of professional development.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm and such other hours that may be required.
