Maya graduated from The University of Exeter in 2015 with a LLB in Law, before joining Atkins Thomson as a paralegal for a year. She completed her LPC at The University of Law in 2017, achieving a distinction.
Maya has gained further paralegal experience at both a specialist media firm and a boutique intellectual property firm, before starting her training contract with Atkins Thomson in March 2018.
Maya assists across all departments and has represented a variety of clients, ranging from politicians, sportspersons, musicians, photographers, private individuals and corporations. She assists Graham Atkins in a variety of matters spanning defamation, commercial litigation and family matters.
In addition, she works closely with Mark Thomson on a variety of defamation, harassment and privacy matters and in bringing phone hacking claims against News Group Newspapers. She also assists James Heath as lead solicitor for the claimant group against Mirror Group Newspapers.
